Tesmer named to Gainesville Building Board of Appeals
Gainesville, Ga. — The City of Gainesville recently appointed Tracy Tesmer as an architect representative on its Building Board of Appeals. The appointment by the Gainesville City Council and mayor spans a five-year term expiring Oct. 18, 2021.
Tesmer is the owner of Gainesville-based Tracy Tesmer Design/Remodeling, a home, kitchen and bathroom remodeling firm offering custom designs for homeowners seeking professional construction services.
Tesmer has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry and holds an associate’s degree in surveying and construction technology and a bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Akron. His career has involved building projects ranging from homes, roads and bridges, to skyscrapers and hospitals. He’s operated Tracy Tesmer Design/Remodeling since 2009.
The purpose of the Board of Appeals is to act on appeals relating to building codes within the City of Gainesville. The board consists of seven members which include representatives from the following fields: structural engineer, architect and two alternate architects, plumbing/fire safety, mechanical and electrical, plus one ex-officio member.
